How It Works
One size does not fit all when it comes to airway orthodontics. At Sleep Apnea Solutions, our team uses multiple approaches to expand your upper jaw and open your airways.
The common denominator is a palate expander that is worn on the roof of the mouth to gently expand your bite over time.
For some patients, this appliance can be removable and worn during therapy. For others, the expander is anchored to the jaw using temporary implants to keep the device in place.
Over time, the appliance will provide pressure to gradually widen the jaw. Once the jaw has been expanded to an adequate width, our team will use traditional orthodontics to correct any smile changes that have occurred.
